The community was named after Andrew Jackson Collier, whose mill sat on Tanyard Creek. The area was also the site of fierce Civil War battles, lending to the historical importance of the neighborhood. Collier Hills residents enjoy easy access to Tanyard Creek Park on the south and Memorial Park on the north. Amenities include Bobby Jones Golf Course, Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, a playground and an “unofficial” but popular dog park. |
