Real Estate for sale in Castleberry HillCastleberry Hill is a neighborhood in Downtown Atlanta, just southwest of the Central Business District. The federally recognized Castleberry Hill Art District is located here, and includes the city’s largest concentration of remant railroad buildings. The community gets its name from the hill that peaks between Stonewall and Fair Street along Walker Street. This land was owned by Daniel Castleberry, who settled in the area in the early 1820′s. It was common for snake oil salesmen to frequent the area in the late 1840′s to 1850′s, earning the area the nickname of “Snake Nation” during those years. Today the area is renowned for it’s conversions of authentic late 1800′s to early 1900′s industrial buildings into modern residential lofts. Castleberry Hill residents enjoy pedestrian access to a number of art galleries, and restaurants, as well as events at Phillips Arena, Georgia Dome and Georgia World Congress Center. |
