E. Rivers is an elementary school in the Atlanta Public School district. It's part of the North Atlanta cluster, also informally known as the Buckhead cluster. This means that kids zoned for E. Rivers Elementary will go on to Sutton Middle and North Atlanta High. Originally named Peachtree Heights School, E. Rivers opened in in 1917 and was named for Atlanta developer Eretus Rivers who donated the land for the school. After the original building burned down, a replacement was built in 1950. More recently, that building was torn down and a brand-new, expanded building was opened in 2015 to accomodate a growing enrollment. The new school can accomodate approximately 900 students. The school boasts International Baccalaureate and Dual Immersion programs in its K-5 classes. Neighborhoods zoned for E. Rivers include Brookwood, Brookwood Hills, Collier Hills, Haynes Manor, Loring Heights, Peachtree Hills, Ardmore Park, and Underwood Hills. Address: Phone number: 404-802-7050 |
