Arguably Atlanta's most famous neighborhood, Buckhead is actually a large area inclusive of dozens of smaller neighborhoods. Buckhead begins on the south end at the Brookwood Split (where I-75 and I-85 diverge just north of Midtown), and extends northward to the boundary between the city of Atlanta proper and the city of Sandy Springs.
Sometimes referred to as the "Beverly Hills of the South", Buckhead boasts one of the largest collections of luxury homes in Atlanta. Although conveniently located within the city, most of the residential neighborhoods have a more suburban feel. Contrasting with that, however, is the highly metropolitan heart of Buckhead which includes high-end shopping and dining and high-rise Buckhead condos along Peachtree. If executive estates and luxury condos aren't in your immediate future, don't worry, there are still affordable options within Buckhead.
