Return to: Intown Atlanta Neighborhood Guide Map
Decatur has been called an "Intown Suburb" of Atlanta, and while that term might seem like an oxymoron, it's actually a succinct description of this trendy but quaint town. Located just east of Atlanta and with a population under 20,000, Decatur is small enough to provide a home-town feel, yet close enough to be considered "intown" by any standard. Decatur is a popular place to call home by those who desire close proximity to Emory University, CDC, and Atlanta's core business district, while others are drawn to the eclectic mix of restaurants, pubs and shops in and around the Decatur Square. In addition to chic lofts, condos and townhomes, Decatur offers established neighborhoods full of homes bursting with character, ample green spaces and excellent schools.
