In designing the residence, the site's topography was both a challenge and an opportunity. It was by no means simple to manage a construction site so far from the street. Further, upon commencement of construction, it was discovered that the home site was comprised largely of stone bedrock. This presented additional construction requirements but yielded the most solid foundation and plenty of boulders for use when landscaping.
